MENDOZA God called Enriqueta Carmen
Mendoza to glory on Thursday, September 24 at the age of 61. She was a loving
wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, and a respected member of her church and
community. Carmen was born on July 15, 1949 in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of
Ramon and Mercedes Roman. She married Ismael Mendoza on September 11, 1971 and
had three children. She was a longtime active member of St. Jude Catholic
Church in El Paso. Carmen worked at Lincoln Junior High School and at Wiggs
Middle School as a teacher's aide and administrative clerk from 1985-1987. She
was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ismael
Mendoza. Sons Ismael Immanuel and his wife Janessa of Las Cruces, New Mexico
and Gilbert, of Irving, Texas; her daughter, Yvonne Mendoza Becerra and her
husband Chris Becerra of Houston, Texas; her brothers Lorenzo Roman and his
wife Maria Elena Roman of Mason, Ohio; and Manuel Roman and his wife Noemi
Roman of El Paso, TX; and her grandchildren Korissa Mendoza, McKynna Mendoza,
Isabel Becerra and Victoria Becerra. Visitation will be on Tuesday September
28th 2010 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Doniphan Chapel.
Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church. Mass of
Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29th 2010 at St.
Jude Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National
Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Jude Catholic Church. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Carmen's honor to the at alz.org or by calling
800-272-3900. Funeral service under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME.
