Luis
Lopez (Tio Lou/Arisky)Our beloved Tio Lou, born on August 25, 1919 in Smelter
Town, TX, was peacefully called home and embraced by our Lord on August 9, 2010
while surrounded by those who loved and cared for him. He was a great patriot
whose love for his country was beyond words. He was a U.S. Army
Veteran and served in WWII.
Tio toured in Africa and throughout Europe. Tio Lou was an example of American
Patriotism. Most are fortunate to have one father. We were blessed to have had
two. Our uncle served as our second father throughout our lives. He was a civil
servant until his retirement. He is survived by his sister Enriqueta L. Alva
and brothers, Arturo Lopez Varela Jr. and Guillermo Lopez. His nephew, Rodolfo
Alva Jr. (wife Raquel) and nieces Corina Martinez, Yolanda Alva Corella and
Irma Alva Delfin. Those who considered him a grandfather, Ezekiel Zenon and
Elise Jaqueline Alva, Benjamin and Vicente Martinez, Carlos Julian, Gabriel
Antonio and Victoria Inez Corella, Lennie Delfin Alonzo and Rafael Andres
Delfin, Santiago Alonzo, Joaquin and Reyna Martínez. Pallbearers are Rodolfo
Alva Jr., Benjamin Martinez, Vicente Martinez, Carlos Julian Corella, Gabriel
Antonio Corrella and Rafael Andres Delfin. Honorary Pallbearers, Jesus
Martinez, Rafael Delfin, Arturo Lopez Varela Jr., and Rick Alonzo. We are
extending our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Odyssey Hospice (Liz,
Frank, Lourdes, Betty and Erica) Encompass Homehealth (Dolores, Marissa and
Raul) and Alexandria for the loving care in his final days. The memories we
have of Tio and his love for dancing will always be embedded in our hearts.
