Daniel Herrera
Surrounded
by his family and friends, Daniel "Danny" Herrera, 37, was called to
heaven on Thursday, September 4, 2008. Daniel is preceded in death by his
grandfather Marcelo Herrera and his great grandmother Hortencia Gonzales. Danny
is survived his parents, Reynaldo and Teresa Herrera; his siblings, Alejandro
R. Herrera, Claudia I. Valenzuela and her husband, Eladio, Efren Herrera and
his wife Nohemi, Marco Antonio Herrera, and Marisela Herrera; also grandparents
Antonio and Julia Escandon, and Consuelo Herrera, along with numerous uncles,
aunts, and cousins. Danny was born in El Paso, TX on February 22, 1971 and was
a graduate of Irvin High School. During his life, he touched many lives with
his unconditional love and will be missed by all who knew him. We love you and
may you rest in peace. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, on Monday,
September 8, 2008 with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral
Homes-Northeast at 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will take place at 1:00 pm, on
Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will
follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral

What can be said that hasn't already been said? What words of
comfort can possibly console the emptiness we feel? The days to come will be
difficult and hard; and yet they must be trangressed. For what is life if not a
brief moment in time? For what is death if not eternity? We believe that our
Danny is experiencing the realm of the unknown, the awesomeness of the
Universe, the brilliance of Light, the Benevolence of Being; in short, the

and went to school with him through out our whole life. He was a trusted and
dear sincere freind who would always find a way to stay peaceful even in trying
times. I have lost contact with him over the years but never his memory of what

I deeply regret and apologize that I have been out of town during
the services due to unfortunate work obligations. Despite the distance please
know that my every prayer has been for Danny and family. I flew over a
thunderstorm last night while the services were going on and realized how
blessed he must now be to walk on those very clouds with the lightning at his
feet. He was a great older brother and an awesome cousin that will be forever

Herrera Family, I'm sorry for your loss. I may not have kept in
close contact with you all, but my thoughts and prayers are with you. My last
memory of Danny is a good one I'd like to share. I took a day off from work on
Halloween a few years ago to go watch a movie. I thought I was the only one who
would go off and do something like that. Well, Danny was out front, eager as I
was to watch the horror movie. I asked him to sit with me and a friend at the
movie. If you know how much I love Halloween, you know the whole day for me is
a fun-filled day. It was a nice memory that I have of him, going out having fun
celebrating his inner-kid on Halloween. God bless you all in your time of

Dear Tere and Nano, Please accept my deepest condolences for your
loss. As a parent, I cannot even allow myself to think what you must be going
through. Please know that my two eldest kids and I lit a candle at church
yesterday in remembrance of Danny and in thanksgiving for having known him.
From the day he was born, we all knew he was a kind, loving soul. Danny is in
heaven with Hortensia and my dad, and is no longer suffering with a body that
was insufficient to keep him here with the people he loved. One day very soon
we will all be reunited. It's not "adios" but "hasta
luego." With deepest affection and love, your cousins Luis, Donna, Bobby,
Graciela and Sammy. PS. Please give Julia a big, big hug and a kiss for me.
Tell her I love her and that I am with you all in spirit tomorrow as you put

There is a building in South Carolina known as th Michelin Bldg.
It was built to be strong & beautiful. Like Danny this building was
critisized for its design and character. It took its ups & downs from the
natural elements and to this day it is most loved and one of the strongest
buildings in Greenville, SC. Danny, you will always be my Micheline building.

I am so sorry to hear about Danny. My husband and I actually
worked with him at the Appraisal District. He went to a couple of my son's
birthday parties. I am heartbroken...he was such a good person with a good
