Isabel Gonzalez

ISABEL GONZALEZ, a lifetime resident of El Paso (Smelter Town), passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010, peacefully at home at the age of 77. Isabel (Chavela) was born in El Paso, Texas on October 8, 1932 to Carlos Aranda and Catalina Carrillo. She was the widow of Antonio Gonzalez, who passed away in December of 2002. Isabel and Antonio spent many years taking care of young foster children. Isabel was a very strong-willed, loving woman who had a tremendous work ethic and was always there to help anyone who needed it without fail. She loved to cook for everyone in the family. Isabel is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Antonio, brother, Jesus and sister, Dora. Isabel is survived by her children Carmen Duffy (John), Hector Gonzalez (Susie), Lily Gomez (Valdo), Jesus Gonzalez (Lupe), Javier Gonzalez (Gladys), Johnny Gonzalez (Christy), Juanita Gonzalez. She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Hospice of El Paso, 1440 Miracle Way, El Paso, TX 79925. Always beautiful, always strong and forever present in our hearts. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM.
