Cecilia Escandon, 77, passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Escandon was a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church, an active church volunteer, a Guadalupana, a Crucista and a member of the order of the Sacred Heart. She was well known in the community for her delicious gorditas. A devoted mother and grandmother, she dedicated her life to family and God. She remained a rock and our strength throughout our lives. Preceded in death by her husband Ignacio Escandon. Survived by her children, Arturo Rocha, Ruben Escandon, Rosie Elquea, Carolina Rocha, Rene Escandon, Sonny Escandon, Letty Holguin, Ignacio Escandon, Jr., Michael Escandon, Banjo Hernandez, Tencho Jimenez, Julie Highfill and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, December 10th, 2007 at St. Jude Catholic Church from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM where Praying of the Rosary will begin at 8:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at St Jude Church at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Memorial Pines Cemetery.
