Maria De Jesus Duron, Born in
Smelter, TX, on November 12, 1918. She went home on June 11, 2011, at the age
of 92. She was a member of the Divino Redentor Methodist Church. She was looked
up to and adorned by her family and known to all as Vita. Vita went to Effie
Eddington, Elementary school from 1927 to 1932, Beall School in 1933 and Bowie
High School from 1933 to 1937. Vita was a devoted and beloved member of the El
Paso Independent School District for over 20 years. Vita was best known for her
love of God, her intelligence, independence, sweet nature, love and devotion of
her family, she would never turn her back or hesitate to help anyone in need.
Vita was well known for her beautiful singing voice. Vita's strength is highly
admired as she loved to take long daily strolls around the city of El Paso. She
also enjoyed her various trips to Mexico, from which she returned with many
adventurous stories. With God's grace she joins her beloved father, Mother, and
all nine brothers and sisters. Vita is survived by her nieces Connie Carrillo
and family, Ruth Lopez, (Anselmo A. Lopez) and family, Corina Gomez, (Joe) and
family, she is also survived by her nephews Victor Duron and family, Ramon Duron,
Jorge Duron and Roberto Duron, as well as countless members of the extended
family. Vistation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 for from 5:00 P.M. to
9:00 P.M.. The service will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at
Martin Funeral Home Central at 3839 Montana Ave. Pallbearers will be Victor
Duron, George Duron, Anselmo Antonio Lopez Jr., Stoney Antwan Owens, Andrel
Marquis Owens and David Carlos Lopez. One can only hope to live such a long
prosperous life as she did, may she sing with the angels now.
