Manuel Guillen Chacon (" El Capullo, El Guero") has joined his parents and infant daughter in eternal peace. Manuel was born December 17, 1921 and was raised in El Paso, in an area called Smeltertown. He was a veteran who served honorably in World War II. His absence will be deeply felt by all those whose lives he touched. "Apa" passed away peacefully at his home the morning of February 8, 2005. He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Ida Chacon and his three adult children: John M. Chacon, Martha D. Garcia (Robert Garcia) and Gloria C. Aguilar (Antonio Aguilar Jr.), as well as his grandchildren, Adrian Velaso, Lorena Jasso, Rosemary Garcia, Tony Aguilar and Veronica Aguilar. His love and affection will be greatly missed by his great grandchildren Marissa Jasso, Adrian J. Velasco and Alejandro Jasso. Brother: Antonio Chacon, Jesus Chacon, Alfredo Chacon and Andy Chacon, sisters: Vicenta Guerrero and Sara Gonzalez. Que descanses con los angelitos Apa. Pallbearers will be John M. Chacon, Adrian Velasco, Antonio Aguilar, Jr., Antonio Aguilar III, Jesus Martinez, Jaime Jasso, Alfredo Chacon, Andy Chacon. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 10, 2005 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home located at 750 N. Carolina. A rosary will be at 7:30 pm also on Thursday at the Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be on Friday, February 11, 2005 at St. Paul Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with honors. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home.
