From Martin’s daughter

My father is Martin "Menusa" Anaya and was also born and raised in Smeltertown.  I was raised hearing stories of his youth.  I was so glad to stumble upon your little slice of heaven of a website.  I can't wait to show my Dad your website and hear the stories again, now that I'm an adult.

Thanks in advance!

That is indeed my dad.  My dad is the youngest of his brothers Gregorio and Ismael.  I passed this link to my Mom so she can show him your website.  How'd you find my Dad's info so quickly? I'm a wiz on google but I don't think even I could have found his date of birth.  He lived on Avenue A with my Tio "Tacho" and Tia "Chepa" Carmona.

Best,

Jo Anna

Hi Yoly and Martin, JoAnna and All !!

Was really good to hear from you. Yes, I got all the Smeltertown links you sent, tell JoAnna in the Menusa link its Tio Tacho , not Tio Nacho. Jerry tells me who's Nacho? I smiled, and said I'll see if JoAnna can go in there and correct it. On another note, I think I remember Mike Cortez, Maelo thinks he remembers him too. Martin do you remember Perfecta? She used to live behind us next to Chupy. Write when you can, loved hearing from you, Monce and Jerry (Mantle)

Thanks,
Jo Anna

On the note above. Perfecta Cortez Antunes was my aunt. She was my dads sister.
We lived across the street in "La Cuadrilla" row of houses to the left (facing) of the
Rojas family and across the street from Chupy. Chupy later moved to Montoya, past
Buena Vista on Doniphan Dr. Had to have been in the early 50's.

Kick my brain cells by using this as a reference and locate your house for me.
Behind my tia Perfecta, towards Paisano Dr, was the stone house the Judge was in and later
the Roman family. Between this was the outhouses.
